The Canterbury Hockey Association (CHA) considers one of its core responsibilities to be the implementation of best practice processes by our members (i.e. clubs and schools) for the benefit of participants and the hockey community generally.
This page provides information about development programs and initiatives that can be accessed by clubs and schools.
ClubMark
ClubMark is a three tier self accreditation process, developed by Sport Canterbury, that allows sport organisations to ensure their processes and systems are best practice. It has existed in a generic form for a number of years and some local hockey clubs have at various times engaged in the program and achieved various accreditations. However, Sport Canterbury and Hockey New Zealand have recently (2009) developed a hockey version that allows the accreditation process to recognise various elements specific to hockey. Sport Canterbury have staff who are dedicated consultants for the ClubMark program and work with those organisations that engage in the program.
Further information about ClubMark is contained in the attachment below:
ClubMark Information
As an incentive for Canterbury hockey clubs and schools to engage in this process and improve the quality of their processes and systems, CHA is committed to providing a rebate to members on the CHA component of the Affiliation Fees (not the component that is passed on to Hockey New Zealand). The rebate will be structured as follows:
