Umpire Education

The Canterbury Hockey Association's umpire education programme provides the opportunity for new and developing umpires to attend courses and seminars and receive mentoring so as to become a better umpire.  Whether someone who is new to sport simply looking for some basic knowledge to umpire on behalf of a team to highly experienced umpires wanting to enhance their existing skills, the CHA umpire education programme has something for all umpires.

Canterbury Hockey and it’s Umpire Committee offer a variety of Hockey New Zealand and other Umpire Development Courses.  Topics range from Junior Umpiring to Advanced Theory and Practical applications presented by current top umpires.  For the latest information about offerings please check the CHA website or e-mail chm@hockeycanterbury.co.nz
