U15 Val Nesbitt Carnival ~ Final Results

The U/15 Val Nesbitt Trophy (teams event) and U/15 National Championships were staged at Calamvale Community College in Brisbane, Sept 29 - Oct 3.
Victoria fielded two State teams, both of which performed very well, finishing 2nd and 4th respectively. Victoria 1 fought out the closest of contests against NSW 1 playing for 1st place; with the final result being 4 matches all but going down (9-10) on games. Victoria 2 lost the their 3rd place playoff against NSW 2; 7 matches to 1.

Also, a big congratulations to the Badminton Acadamy of Victoria (BAV) team who took out the U/15 Regional Championships, which was played in conjuction with the Val Nesbitt Trophy. The Ballarat team finished a gallant 3rd in this competition.
The Individual U/15 National Championships kicked off on Thursday 1st Oct and there were some great performances achieved by the Victorian players.
In the Women's Singles Final, Vinning Mak defeated her opponent 21-17, 25-23.
Athithan Selladurai & Arthavan Srithar won the Men's Doubles final, beating the top seeds 21-17, 21-12 in the final.
And in the Women's Doubles, the final saw two exciting young Victorian combinations battle it out, with Natasha David & Gronya Sommerville eventually getting over the top of Nathasha Sharp & Vinning Mak (13-21, 21-16, 21-11).
