APPLYING FOR GRANTS
There are always grants available for sporting clubs looking for assistance. We know that your clubs, and us at Badminton Victoria, have limited resources. An excellent way to enhance your budget is to take the time to apply for grants to supplement your association. We understand that not every grant is applicable to every club, but we try to showcase as many possibilities here and in our weekly updates as we can.
Perhaps by applying for a uniform grant, you’ll be able to put the money you would have spent on new club uniforms, towards funding transport to a tournament or competition you otherwise couldn’t have afforded. Equipment grants can help you buy umpire chairs for your club, mini racquets for younger juniors, portable nets to help you run schools clinics or Come & Try days. Any number of things are available, and when we’re all sharing the same, strained budgets, a little help can go a long way.
Here at BV, we certainly don’t deny that Grant Writing can be an intimidating process. There are so many questions, many that have no “right” answer. That’s why we have started putting together this 'Grant Assistance' section of our website with information on available grants, as well as some templates and/or previously completed grant applications to help you through the process. Furthermore, most of us in the office are no strangers to grant applications and would be happy to help by answering questions or making suggestions for you. Please, we’re always just a phonecall or email away.
Finally, while it’s true there’s often more applications than money for larger, state and national grants, your local community or region may have assistance available too! Local councils sometimes have more funds than applicants and it’s a great resource to tap into! Take a look!
