The Boomers Road to London
The Boomers qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Games after scoring a hard-fought 3-0 victory in the 2011 FIBA Oceania Championships for Men over archrivals the New Zealand Tall Blacks.
The Boomers took Game One in Melbourne 91-78 to establish an early ascendancy as the Patty Mills had 20 points and Mark Worthington added 13.
The Boomers then assured themselves of a berth in London with an 81-64 Game Two win in Brisbane as Brad Newley led the way with 12 points and six rebounds.
Australia then secured the sweep with a 92-68 victory in Sydney as Aleks Maric exploded for 27 points and eight boards.
The series win ensured the Boomers clinched the Oceania zone's one automatic berth for London.
