U17 teams named ahead of FIBA World Champs
The U17 Men’s and Women’s teams that will take on the world at the upcoming U17 FIBA World Championship have been named.
Following successful tours in China for both sides, and following a final camp recently, 12 of Australia’s top rising stars at the U17 level will have the chance to represent their country on the biggest stage.
The 2012 U17 FIBA World Championship for Men tips off in Lithuania in under two weeks, with the Aussies set to battle Spain in the first match-up on 29 June. The tournament concludes on 8 July, with the Aussies competing with the likes of the USA, Argentina, Croatia, France, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Egypt, Canada, Korea and China. The 2012 U17 Women’s World Championship gets under way on the 17 August and runs until the 26 August, with the Aussies’ first match-up being against Japan.
Also competing in the women’s tournament is USA, Brazil, Italy, Canada, Turkey, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, Korea and Mali. CLICK HERE for the full schedule.
