Hookin2Hockey
Hockey Australia’s National Recruitment Program, Hookin2Hockey, provides children aged 5 – 12 with an engaging ‘hockey experience’, where they will learn the basic skills of the game, have fun and meet new friends! Over 30 Victorian Hockey Clubs & Associations are currently delivering Hookin2Hockey to over 1000 children. All participants have the opportunity to purchase the “Stick & Goal Pack” containing a stick, ball, shin pads, goal, t-shirt & sweat band.

Regional Road Show
Annually in February & March, Hockey Victoria partners with Country Affiliates to deliver its Regional Road Show, where Hockey Victoria coaches travel to a regional location and deliver a week of school clinics in the lead up to an Association run HookIn2Hockey program. This model has proven to be successful in raising hockey’s local profile and establishing sustainable HookIn2Hockey centres in several regional centres including Bendigo, Mildura, Echuca and Shepparton.

U9 & U11 Development Program
The NAB U9 & U11 Development Program is delivered annually in November across multiple Melbourne venues. Delivered by Victorian Vikings and State League players, the four week program aims to enhance the development of fundamental hockey skills within a game sense environment. The program culminates with a Gala Day at the State Netball Hockey Centre where teams play a round robin tournament. Active After-School Communities (AASC)
The Australian Government’s Active After-school Communities (AASC) program is a national initiative that provides primary school children with access to free sport and other structured physical activity programs in the after-school time slot of 3.00pm to 5.30pm. Over 190 000 children participate in the AASC program around Australia each term.
