SOUTH ISLAND AGE GROUP TOURNAMENTS

The South Island Tournaments are set-up for Boys and Girls aged 11 to 16 to represent their Districts in a festival of football.

There are in excess of 100 teams from Mainland and Football South come together at tournaments across the South Island to compete for district honours.

Each year clubs are sent out information on trials which Mainland Football run to select age groups, both boys and girls for tournaments that are held in the September school holidays.

The following age group tournaments are held each year:

Boys Tournaments:

Under 11’s Venue - Nelson Jack Mcknight Bowerwater Football Tournament: This tournament is held for 11 year old boys and is a 9 aside tournament

Under 12’s Venue – Blenheim Gavin Roberts South Island Football Tournament: This tournament is held for 12 year old boys and is a 9 aside tournament

Under 13’s Venue – Queenstown South Island Junior Football Championship: This tournament is held for 13 year old boys and is an 11 aside tournament

Under 14’s Venue – Dunedin South Island Junior Football Championship: This tournament is held for 14 year old boys and is an 11 aside tournament

Under 15’s Venue - Timaru South Island Junior Football Championship: This tournament is held for both 15year old boys and is an 11 aside tournament

Under 16’s Venue - Timaru South Island Junior Football Championship: This tournament is held for both 15year old boys and is an 11 aside tournament

Girls Tournaments:

Under 12’s Venue – Blenheim South Island Junior Football Championship: This tournament is held for girls 12 years old and younger. It is a 9 aside tournament

Under 14’s Venue – Kaiapoi South Island Junior Football Championship: This tournament is held for 13 and 14 year old girls and is an 11 aside tournament

Under 17’s Venue – Methven South Island Junior Football Championship: This tournament is held for girls aged 15 to17 years old and is an 11 aside tournament
