Club Mark and NZF Quality Mark
Mainland Football has had an eight year partnership with Sport Canterbury to deliver Club Mark with a football specific component throughout our Federation. Within this time 23 clubs have attained Bronze level, six Silver level and one Gold level. This is a fantastic achievement for the Clubs, Sport Canterbury and Mainland Football.
To help New Zealand clubs perform at their peak, NZ Football has created the Quality Mark. This is a national partnership with our seven federations as well as 17 Regional Sports Trusts. It aims to promote continuous improvement in the way football is delivered and support clubs as they adopt best practice.
From May 2012 New Zealand Football will be piloting a national Quality Mark which will bring all of our Federations and Clubs in line using the same product and accreditation tool. The major areas of focus are administration, governance and management, planning, financial, health and safety, and equal opportunities. The football specific areas include player development, coach development, girls and women’s development, referee development and futsal development.
Mainland Football will still work very closely with Sport Canterbury in delivering this new initiative. Colin Grant, Mainland Football Game Development Manager will soon contact Clubs who are reaching their Club Mark renewal date with a view to achieving the new Quality Mark status.
