SPECTRES AGAIN LOOK TO THREATT IN 2009

The Melbourne East Basketball Association (MEBA) has announced this week the reappointment of Sedale Threatt as Head Coach of the Nunawading Spectres SEABL Men’s team for 2009. This will be Threatt’s third season at the helm of the Spectres program and no doubt he will be looking to build on his 21-31 SEABL coaching record.

While there has been no official announcement of any new playing personnel, Threatt said earlier this week that he was talking with, “a couple of big men.” He stressed the importance of getting the right people in to compliment returning players. It is expected that the core group of the Nunawading team will have some noticeable absentees when the season tips off in 2009.

No Assistant Coaches have been appointed at this point in time; however Threatt is hoping to get the playing squad on court in coming weeks as he starts 2009 preparations.

Before making his way out to Australia, Threatt had a impressive career in the NBA between 1983 – 1997. Since being drafted from West Virginia Institute of Technology, he has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Seattle Supersonics, L.A. Lakers and Houston Rockets before plying his trade in Europe. Experience such as this invaluable to a young playing group and the Spectres Community is very much looking forward to the continued relationship.

The MEBA will make further announcements as the offseason progresses.
