
The Nunawading Junior Spectres Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Simpson as the new Director of Coaching (Boy's Program) for the 2010 VJBL season. Craig is currently the Head Coach of the Nunawading Spectres SEABL team and has an impressive track record in junior basketball as a player and as a coach. Beginning as a junior playing in the VJBL, Craig progressed to played at SEABL level, and was involved in winning 3 conference championships, 2 runners up and the 2006 SEABL Grand Final MVP award. Craig also played College Basketball in the US and was part of the Victorian Titans (NBL) Squad. Craig's coaching record is equally impressive with his junior teams winning VC, Nationals & Classic titles. Craig has coached at U14's, U18's, U20's, Youth League and most recently as one of the Assistant Coaches to Brian Goorjian at the South Dragons. In the middle of the 2009 SEABL season Craig took over the reigns of the Nunawading Spectres Senior Team and had an immediate impact. Coming in on the back of a 0-10 start to the season, the Spectres under Craig worked for 8 hard fought wins from the last 17 games.
Craig will be working closely with the Girl's Director of Coaching Tamie Wilson and the Junior Spectres Committee anticipates great results from these dynamic and dedicated young coaches.
