Three Opals to shine for Nunawading May 9
2009 Australian Opals Kathleen MacLeod and Jenna O’Hea, both graduates of the Nunawading Spectres junior program along with Australian Opal squad member for 8 years Kristen Veal will all take the floor in Nunawading Spectres Womens Team in its clash with Kilsyth Cobras.
An array of such exciting basketball skills and talent has not been seen at Nunawading Basketball Centre for a very long time, the opportunity to see a Spectres team that not only has a vast amount of talent, but also has three (3) Australian Opals in the team is an occasion that should not be missed.
Kathleen and Jenna were both members of the Australian Sapphires team that won a silver medal at the World Championships and are both members of the Australian Opals team preparing for the 2010 World Championships with tours of China and Europe. Kristen Veal has been a member of the most successful Opals team in our history. During her 8 years, Australia has won a World Championship Gold Medal and 2 Olympic Silver medals.
The opportunity to see 3 players in the same team at Nunawading is a MUST see occasion. Added to these three players an exciting and talented group of senior players that currently represent Nunawading Spectres and this is a game not to be missed by any basketball supporter.
