Mitre, arguably the oldest Brand of stitched Sports Balls in the world (Established in 1817) has signed a three-year Sponsorship agreement with Touch New Zealand.

The deal provides Mitre with the exclusive Licence to manufacture and distribute Touch NZ balls throughout New Zealand and gives Touch NZ access to Mitre’s patented G-Spin technology that will be featured on the Touch Match Pro ball.

In addition to the official match ball there will be two other balls designed and available – a mid-point ball called the Touch Match, still high quality and great grip; and an entry level ball called the Touchdown, which will wow people with its fun vibrant colour schemes.  A size 3 ball for juniors under 9 will also be in the range.

Mitre G Spin Technology, is a groove system on the surface of Mitre’s top Touch footballs which makes the ball more aerodynamic, meaning the ball will fly straighter in the air. It also provides a superior grip surface making handling and passing the ball more efficient and accurate.

The Mitre Touch football range will be available from 2012 at all leading retailers as well as through Club and School distributors.
