GAME DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The West Coast Waves cannot run without the assistance of some very helpful people, in seasons past they have been the backbone of the team on game day and season 2012/13 is no different.
This year we have included a couple of new volunteer roles to go with our new and improved game day program which includes corporate boxes, a pre game function and more.

All volunteers will receive entry to the games, West Coast Waves polo and other benefits throughout the season.
Video Camera Operator and Duplicator
We require a tech-savvy person willing to film our home games and then be responsible for duplicating disks to give to coaches and the administrator.
Arrival and Departure: approximately half an hour before and after tip off
Ushers
We require four people at each home game to rip tickets, check bags, assist with any general questions from spectators and guide people to the correct seating area.
Arrival approximately 1 ½ hours before tip off
Departure approximately half time
Floor Wipers
We require a further two children at each home game to be the floorwipers at one end of the court. Volunteers must be able to read the game and follow instructions.
Arrival approximately half an hour before tip off
Departure at the game’s end.
Corporate Box hosts
We require two people to host our VIP’s in their corporate boxes, responsibilities would include preparing food platters, delivering food and drinks to boxes, escorting VIPs to pre and post game functions.
Arrival approximately 1 ½ hours before tip off
Departure approximately half and hour after the games end
Pre and Post Game Function Organiser
We require one or two people to be responsible for hosting the pre game function including introducing the VIPs to the coach before the coach’s address as well as setting out the food in the Basketball WA Boardroom.
The role would also include setting out the post game meal for players ready for the post game function.
Arrival approximately 1 ½ hours before tip off
Departure approximately at the games end
Set up/Pack up
We require people to assist with the setting up and packing up of the court on game day, this includes setting up courtside signage, corporate boxes and signage, ice, water urns, water bottles, etc. for players and staff.
Arrival approximately two hours before tip off
Departure approximately half and hour after the games end
Entertainment Co-ordinator
We have a great opportunity for a university student studying Event Management who would like to gain work experience as the Game Day Entertainment Co-ordinator
They would be assisting with ideas for entertainment, games, competitions and prizes for the Waves home games at the WA Basketball Centre. They would also be assisting with organising the people involved in the performances, games and competitions each week and on game day/night.
There could also be opportunities to assist with other events run by the West Coast Waves during the season.
HOME GAMES AT 'THE SANDPIT'
Game nights at The Sandpit are all about family entertainment and quality basketball. Throughout the season, The Sandpit is set to feature a range of special acts, interactive games and a showcase of Perth’s up and coming basketballers.
The Sandpit is the exciting new home of the West Coast Waves and we intend on making every home game a fun and entertaining night out. Families, young people and basketball fans alike can be guaranteed a good time at a Waves home game.
Our courtside announcer Matthew Cecins keeps The Sandpit entertained and right into the game. Plus our selection of music; ranging from the latest top 40 songs right the way through to the classics means everyone hears their favourites throughout the night, mixed by our new DJ Nathan Winch.
Cheering on the team at each and every home game this year are the award winning cheerleaders from NRG Cheersports.
