The Dandenong Jayco Rangers continue to lock away their playing roster for the upcoming 2012/2013 WNBL Season, re-signing athletic forward Alison Downie.

A member of all three Jayco Rangers Championships, Downie (27) returns for what will be her 13th season with Dandenong’s WNBL program. Affectionately known around Dandenong Stadium as ‘Doona’ Rangers fans will be thrilled to see Downie back in the number 12 singlet for another year.

Jayco Rangers Coach Mark Wright was again excited to have Downie back on board for the 12/13 season. “Alison is an integral part of our championship winning team and was our most improved player last season. She is greatly respected and loved by team mates and coaches and will take on more of a leadership & guidance role within the playing group.”

Downie relished an increased role with the Jayco Rangers in the 11/12 season, averaging 6.0 points and 4.9 rebounds as a starting role. She has built a league wide reputation as a defensive stopper and will regularly be set the task of shutting down opposition scorers.

An experienced WNBL performer, the inclusion of Downie once again should hold the Jayco Rangers in good stead heading into the new season.
